Assorted Thoughts

So it's been not the greatest of weeks. I've been told that I should just tell people this and get it over with, so I will. My Nana passed away a week ago Friday. We all kinda knew it was coming, and I got to see her one last time in February when I went to Ontario for Reading Week. I wasn't actually that close to her, which I think is one of the worst parts. She was one of the nicest people you could ever meet.

The real problem is that this is bringing up some things I'd rather not remember. My parents flew out to Ontario for the funeral and I stayed home to work and study. Unfortunately this left me with way too much time on my own. Not that there's really anything anyone can do about that right now, seeing as everyone, including me, still has a week of exams left.

Just so this isn't entirely depressing, there is some good news. I have 2 summer jobs now, the Population Research Lab one part-time, and I got the Good Samaritan job I applied for. It's casual hours, whatever that means, but it pays almost twice what I earned there last summer, and I'll be doing almost entirely the same tasks. Who can argue with that?

Also, Bev has gotten into East Campus Village, and because of some hilarious error they made, I have a spot reserved in her appartment for September, and Dan has a spot in the one across the hall. That really worked out a whole lot better than any of us were expecting I think, but I'm just glad to have neverending res parties to look forward to in 4 months.

So for now it's back to cramming, and on May 7 I start my spring course. If nothing else, this summer should fly by. Let's hope, shall we?
